£85m superstar to Manchester United: Club bigwig makes major claim
ANTOINE GRIEZMANN will NOT join Manchester United this summer, Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo insists.
Griezmann has been consistently linked with a move to Old Trafford all season long.
The French striker recently claimed he’s ready to leave Atletico and rated his chances of joining United as ‘six out of ten’.
The Red Devils are ready to bid upwards of £85m for the 26-year-old and offer him a huge wage packet to get the deal done.
But Cerezo is adamant that Griezmann will not be heading to England any time soon.
The club bigwig spoke out after yesterday’s Copa del Rey final between Barcelona and Alaves, the final match at the Vicente Calderon before Atletico’s move to the new Wanda Metropolitano.
He told Marca: “Griezmann will stay here. Not here at the Calderon, but at the Wanda.”
Griezmann has also quashed rumours linking him with a move to United.
It was claimed last week that the Red Devils had reached an agreement over financial terms with star striker.
But Griezmann posted on social media: “All the rumours are false. I’m still an Atleti player.
“My future will be decided after discussions with my advisors.”
