Bayern Munich ace sends warning to Carlo Ancelotti after Man Utd transfer enquiries

Bayern Munich defender Joshua Kimmich has admitted he’s desperate for more regular game-time amid speculation Manchester United are interested in signing him this summer.

Kimmich has made 76 appearances for Bayern since joining from Leipzig back in 2015 but the 22-year-old is being heavily linked with a Premier League switch ahead of the summer transfer window.

Reports suggest both United and bitter rivals Manchester City have made enquiries over a move for Kimmich and it’s clear the versatile German is frustrated with a lack of minutes under Carlo Ancelotti.

‘The most important matter for me is not where I play, but that I play. I would happily play as goalkeeper,’ Kimmich told Kicker following his late equaliser for Germany against Denmark.

‘When I have to make a choice between playing and watching on from the sidelines, I always pick playing.

‘I would happily play as goalkeeper, striker or winger, as long as I play. I would prefer any position over watching on from the bench.

‘Both at Bayern and the national team, there are players who have been around a bit longer and have immense quality.

‘There is always a risk that you do not get as much playing time as you would like.”
