PAUL INCE says Manchester United should sign Antoine Griezmann.
The 25-year-old Atletico Madrid star is regarded as one of the best strikers on the planet.
It was this week claimed United had agreed to pay the £85m release clause in his contract – something the club refute.
But Ince says Jose Mourinho should do all he can to get him to Old Trafford.
He told Paddy Power: “Mourinho will have a list of players he wants in and out, and next year they will be serious title challengers.
“They need another goal scorer, they can’t constantly rely on Zlatan Ibrahimovic to find the net.
“They need someone clinical in front of goal. They’ve been linked with Antoine Griezmann, who would be a brilliant option.
“He can play as a striker or a winger and scores all kinds of goals.
“However, if Atletico Madrid are willing to sell him, United are naïve to think they will be the only team in England in for him.
“If they don’t secure Champions League this season then it may be tough to draw him, and players like him, in.”
United are sixth in the Premier League table – 16 points behind Chelsea – and Ince thinks any faint hopes of taking the title are unsurprisingly over.
He added: “United’s chances of winning the league have gone – because they never had a chance this season.
“Jose hasn’t got the team 100 per cent how he would like it. They need to be more consistent, and they aren’t where they should be if they want to challenge for the title.
