Real Sociedad have confirmed they are interested in signing Adnan Januzaj but acknowledge they are not the only team chasing his signature.
The £10m-rated Belgium international has failed to impress since breaking into the first-team squad during David Moyes’ ill-fated 2013/14 season.
The 22-year-old had a hugely disappointing spell with Borussia Dortmund two years ago while he also failed to shine at Sunderland in the season just finished when they were relegated in the most abject of manners.
Jose Mourinho confirmed in April that he had made his mind up on the future of the winger and although he didn’t say what that was, it is believed he is looking to sell him.
Celtic and Marseilles have also been credited with an interest in signing Januzaj and now Sociedad have admitted they are in the hunt.
”It’s true that we are interested [in signing Januzaj], but we are not in talks with Manchester or with him,” the Spanish club’s president Jokin Aperribay said.
“We are waiting for the decision of Manchester United and then we will act. There are more teams interested in him and his signing won’t be easy.”
