Chelsea are reportedly ready to cash out on their star winger Willian this summer, as former Blues boss Jose Mourinho is very keen to land the 28-year-old, and the West London side are looking to raise their transfer funds for bigger deals at the transfer window.
That’s what Metro is claiming, at least, as the Blues forward has been dropped out of Antonio Conte’s first-team plans with Pedro taking his place in the starting eleven.
Mourinho is a huge admirer of Willian, who was one of the few Chelsea players who delivered performances that were worth to see last campaign.
He was named Chelsea’s Player of the Year at the end of last season, being also granted a new four-year deal worth £100,000-a-week.
Despite the fresh contract, the Brazil international could be heading out of the club this summer, with United ready to meet Chelsea’s £40m asking price for the former Shakhtar Donetsk star.
It’s tough to say whether Willian is happy to stay at Chelsea despite his minimizing role, but it’s certain that if United of all teams want to sign him, they’re going to have to make a very, very good bid for him.
