Marcus Rashford has urged Manchester United to sign Alvaro Morata and add even more competition for places in forward areas.
United were reportedly rebuffed in a £52.4million approach to Real Madrid for the striker on Tuesday evening, with Los Blancos holding out for closer to £80million.
The Red Devils want to sign a centre-forward in the summer ahead of their return to the Champions League next season with Zlatan Ibrahimovic set to miss the rest of 2017 through injury.
And Rashford believes Morata would be the perfect signing to arrive at Old Trafford.
“At a big club you are going to attract big players and that’s what we want,” Rashford told Sky Sports.
“Anyone who can come in and help the club win trophies, which is the ultimate aim, they are the players we want to bring in.
“Good competition is important if you want to be successful.”
