The agent of Manchester United defender Matteo Darmian reportedly met with Juventus on Wednesday afternoon to discuss a move for his client in this summer’s transfer window.
Darmian has been strongly linked with a return to Serie A having struggled for first-team football at United last term.
The 28-year-old made 28 Premier League appearances during his first season at Old Trafford, but featured in just eight league fixtures for the 20-time English champions during the 2017-18 campaign.
According to Calciomercato, Juventus chiefs met with Darmian’s agent on Wednesday with the view to completing a move ahead of the 2018-19 campaign.
That said, it is understood that Juventus are only willing to pay £10m for the Italian, but United want a figure in the region of £17m.
Meanwhile, the Red Devils have agreed a deal with Juventus defender Alex Sandro.
Sandro has been on the radar of the Premier League giants since January and they look to now be closing in on completing a transfer.
Rivals Chelsea were keen on the Brazilian left-back last summer but Antonio Conte couldn’t get a deal done. And it now appears he could pitch up at Old Trafford in time for the start of next season in August.
Journalist Duncan Castles revealed the news on the latest episode of The Transfer Window podcast. He says personal terms have been sorted with the player, however a transfer fee is yet to be agreed with the Serie A champions.
