Deal Close: Man United on the verge of reaching agreement with £35m Ivory international

The Ivory Coast international Jean Michael Seri, whose transfer to Barcelona last year fell through at the 11th hour, has been tracked by Man United boss over the past few months, with some stories hinting he could be signed as a replacement for Paul Pogba.

Nevertheless, amid allegations in the Monday’s Paper Talk that Seri is also being linked with Liverpool and Arsenal, Mundo Deportivo have declared that both sides have already accepted a switch to Old Trafford.

The 26-year-old’s contract at Nice terminates next year, and it would cost the Red Devils around €40m (£35million) to buy out his contract.

Jose Mourinho’s side were also said to be keen on signing him last month, but it’s thought a gentleman’s agreement between the two teams will see the transfer go through at the end of the current season.

According to the reports coming from the Mundo, Deportivo Seri has already told his friends that he is Premier League bound and is ‘excited’ by the move to Old Trafford.

It has also been stated that Bayern Munich are his admirers as well, but their interest cooled after the German giants managed to seal the transfer of Leon Goretzka.
