MARQUINHOS has confirmed he will not quit Paris Saint-Germain in January, despite reported interest from Barcelona and Manchester United.
Barca have been strongly linked with a bid for Marquinhos as manager Luis Enrique seeks to bolster his defence.
And the Metro claim Manchester United are also interesting in landing the centre-back, with manager Jose Mourinho determined to sort out a defence impacted by injuries this season.
On 19 July 2013, Marquinhos signed a five-year deal with French side PSG for a fee of €31.4 million. Fellow Roma defender Nicolás Burdisso said in August 2012 that Marquinhos was “a little phenomenon. He has speed, heading ability, he knows what to do, he is humble. He is a little Thiago Silva”.
The 22-year-old has insisted he will not quit Ligue 1 champions PSG and could soon pen a new contract.

“This is my fourth year at PSG,” he told Telefoot.
“I have adapted to life here and speak French. Plus my family is feeling well in Paris.
“Things are going well and I would love to stay here. I hope to sign a renewal.
“It does not only depend on me, but it is looking good.”
Marquinhos’ current contract expires in the summer of 2019 but PSG are reportedly keen to extend his deal before it is in danger of running down.
The Brazil international has played 18 games for PSG this season.
They will face Barcelona in the last-16 of the Champions League in February.
