Real Madrid star Isco has revealed he is on the verge of signing a new contract to keep him at the club.
Isco has been linked with a transfer to a host of clubs this summer including Manchester United and Chelsea.
The playmaker was rumoured to be unhappy at Real after initially struggling for game time in the first half of the season.
But an injury to Gareth Bale in a crucial part of the season allowed Isco to come back into side and the 25-year-old shone for Real in the Champions League ties against Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid.
Isco has now insisted he plans to stay in Madrid after Real won their second successive Champions League.
‘My contract? I hope to renew soon and there’s no better place to play football than Madrid,’ said Isco.
‘If I knew that things would end like this, I’d take it every season.
‘It’s Madrid’s third Champions League in four years and my third as a professional.
‘I could’ve never dreamt of this, but it’s thanks to this family, who made it easier.
‘The first half was much more difficult against a great team in all aspects. In the second half, we saw the best Madrid performance of the entire season.’
The €46.7m-rated Spanish international arrived from Malaga as a massive prospect but has been consistently linked with a move away from Los Blancos.
Zinedine Zidane showed great faith in Isco to start him in the Champions League final with a not yet fully fit Gareth Bale warming the bench.
Another midfielder linked with a move away, James Rodriguez, did not even make the matchday squad for the game.
