Manchester United are lining up a £35 million bid for Benfica right-back Nelson Semedo, according to reports.
The Daily Mirror claim that United are negotiating with the Portuguese champions but the club are reluctant to let the defender leave before the end of the season.
Jose Mourinho reportedly sees Semedo as the long-term successor for United’s right-back position.
Semedo, who has been capped once by Portugal’s senior side, has only emerged as Benfica’s first-choice right-back this season. And fans are delighted at the potential deal for Semedo, who many believe can become one of the best full-backs in world football under the tutelage of his fellow countryman..
Nelson Semedo is the 23 year old version of Dani Alves…I hope Man Utd sign him. Fosu-Mensah could be a back up to him in the future. #MUFC

More impressed with Mourinho going after Semedo since we don't have a very good right back.Skills🔥🔥.I hope no one steals him from us.

Can see why Mourinho wants Semedo as his first choice RB target. He has similar attributes to the prime Maicon at Inter which won the UCL.

Jose must like Lindelof if we're buying him but Nelson Semedo seems a huge talent! #mufc

United are also reportedly closing in on a £38m deal for Benfica’s Victor Lindelof.
The Sweden international was spotted signing a United shirt last week, while reports in Portugal are claiming that the centre-back is signing a new contract with the Portuguese club which will raise his release clause.
O Jogo also claim that Lindelof will earn around £58,000 per week at United.
