Roma are reportedly ready to listen to offers for midfielder Radja Nainggolan. The 30-year-old has consistently been linked with a transfer away from Roma, with Premier League duo Manchester United and Chelsea credited as long-term suitors.
Nainggolan stunned the football world when he retired from international football last month after being snubbed for Belgium’s World Cup squad.
And the combative midfielder now seems set for another shock move as Roma have decided to consider offers for his services this summer.
Gianluca Di Marzio.com claim Nainggolan and Roma have held ‘initial’ talks with Inter about a switch to Milan. But, negotiations have only just begun and Nainggolan is still more likely to join a Chinese Super League club rather than remain in Italy.
Roma would prefer Nainggolan did not line up for a rival Italian side, giving Chinese and English clubs the edge over Inter. Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has failed in numerous attempts to bring Nainggolan to Stamford Bridge, while United have also seen attempts to lure the Belgian to the Premier League knocked back.
Nainggolan is not a huge fan of the English weather and has said in the past he would not like to move to the UK.
‘Chelsea? Yes, that was something,’ he said. ‘It wasn’t done, but they were interested in me. Last season, when they won the Premier League, it was the beginning of that season.
‘But at the end of the day, the choice wasn’t that difficult for me. I like English football, I love to watch the English games too, but I’m almost 30 now.
‘Starting over again? It’s difficult even to think about that. And I hate the rain. We were in Liverpool for two days and it didn’t stop raining. It was cold too. You see the difference to here?’
