MANCHESTER UNITED are closing in on Victor Lindelof, according to reports in Portugal.
A Lisbon based journalist, Bruno Andrade, claims the Red Devils are just addressing a few formalities before the defender formally joins the club from Benfica.
He tweeted: “I repeat: #Lindelof expects only the resolution of some bureaucracies to be officially confirmed as a new Manchester United player”
Manchester United have been heavily linked with the Swedish international in recent weeks.
It’s been suggested Jose Mourinho was willing to wait until the summer to make a move for him.
However, according to the Daily Star the Red Devils are still keen on signing the 22-year-old this month in a mega-money transfer.
Lindelof’s arrival at Old Trafford could spell the end if Chris Smalling’s Man United career.
The 27-year-old has dropped down the pecking order this season and his future at the club looks in doubt.
Arsenal and Everton have both been linked with the England international.
