Journo says Man Utd could complete second signing by Sunday

Manchester United could set to complete a deal to sign Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid before Sunday, according to journalist Dharmesh Sheth.

The Red Devils have been relentlessly linked with a move for the Spanish striker in recent days as Jose Mourinho looks to bolster his attacking options at Old Trafford.

Morata appears to have emerged as a top target for Manchester United but it remains to be seen whether the Red Devils will be able to conclude a deal before they jet off to the United States for their pre-season tour on Sunday.

And reporter Sheth has revealed the latest update on Manchester United’s link to Morata.

Speaking on Sky Sports News HQ on Tuesday morning, Sheth said: “A deal [for Morata] could be concluded by the time Manchester United fly out for their pre-season tour this weekend.

“Morata’s father and his agent met with Real Madrid officials yesterday [Monday] but it is thought that a fee [between the two clubs] is yet to be agreed.”

Manchester United continue to be linked with a host of players this summer, but the Red Devils have so far only concluded a deal to sign defender Victor Lindelof from Benfica.

The Red Devils are preparing for a return to the Champions League next season after they won the Europa League last term under new boss Mourinho, despite finishing sixth in the Premier League table.
