Juventus have stepped up talks with Anthony Martial’s representatives after Bayern Munich entered the race to sign the Manchester United star.

The Frenchman has stalled contract talks with the Red Devils in recent weeks due to fears that he has become a squad rotation player at Old Trafford.

Martial was vying with Marcus Rashford for a regular spot in Jose Mourinho’s starting XI at the start of the season but Alexis Sanchez’s arrival has stunted his progress.

Reports earlier this month claimed Martial had told United that he would not sign a new deal and was open to leaving the Theatre of Dreams.

Mourinho will not stand in the way of any player that doesn’t see his future at the club and Gazzetta dello Sport claim Juventus have ‘accelerated’ talks with the Frenchman’s representatives.

The Serie A giants have a long-held interest in Martial but fear that Bayern Munich have the greater financial muscle to pull a deal off and want to ensure they’re first in the queue.

United made Martial the most expensive teenager in world football when they splashed £36million on the Monaco forward in 2015 – a fee that could rise to as much as £58m. The Red Devils value Martial at around £50m and are not actively looking to sell the France forward.
