Man United considering £50m young goalkeeper as David De Gea replacement

According to the Daily Star, Manchester United will target Jordan Pickford if David De Gea forces his dream move to Real Madrid through in the summer.

The Everton shot-stopper has rapidly moved up Jose Mourinho’s transfer list for his current No 1 after a string of impressive displays this season.

Although 23-year-old Jordan Pickford conceded five goals to Arsenal last week, but could arguably only be blamed for a long-distance goal from Aaron Ramsey.

The Toffees paid Sunderland £30m transfer fee to secure the goalkeeper’s services back in June last year. But Everton would look to make a £20m profit on the England international if the Red Devils come calling.

La Liga champions Real Madrid have pursued 27-year-old David De Gea for a number of seasons and were only denied capturing him by a broken fax machine back in 2015.

And while that drama looms once more, Daily Star suggest Man United have their sights set firmly on the De Gea’s potential successor in Jordan Pickford.

The Spaniard has kept 90 clean sheets in 226 top-flight displays for Manchester United.

Current Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas says he wouldn’t be too concerned if Los Blancos signed another shot-stopper in the summer.
