According to the latest transfer news, Manchester United are considering letting Anthony Martial join their direct rivals Chelsea in a part-exchange deal involving Willian.
The 22-year-old Martial is understood to be seeking a move away from Old Trafford during the summer window due to starting fewer than half of the Red Devils’ Premier League fixtures this term.
The 29-year-old Willian, meanwhile, has thrived at west London club since joining from Anzhi Makhachkala back in August 2013, claiming two Premier League titles and making upwards of 230 appearances for the Blues thus far.
As per the Mirror, Man United head coach Jose Mourinho is desperate to reunite with the Brazil international, whilst also being frustrated with Martial’s purported lack of progress at Old Trafford.
It is also believed that the Old Trafford side would want £40m in cash from Chelsea as Jose Mourinho values Martial at £80m in current market conditions, with Willian worth £40m.
Willian is contracted to Chelsea until 2020, while the Frenchman’s current United deal runs until 2019 with the option of a further year on the club’s side.
Alongside Anthony Martial, the Blues are also keeping close tabs on Napoli explosive forward Lorenzo Insigne.
