MANCHESTER UNITED are the bookies’ favourites to sign England World Cup hero Kieran Trippier.

The Tottenham right-back has shone for the Three Lions in Russia and could have a queue of suitors hoping to seal his signature before the end of the transfer window.

Trippier is 5/2 with Ladbrokes to move to Manchester United while a switch to Chelsea is priced at 7/2. The bookmaker fancies the prospect of Trippier heading to La Liga.

Real Madrid, who have already signed Spain right-back Alvaro Odriozola, are 4/1 to sign Trippier while Barcelona are 5/1.

Premier League champions Manchester City round off the betting market at 8/1.

Ladbrokes spokesman Alex Apati told Starsport: “Trippier’s England heroics look to have excited plenty of European heavyweights and the betting suggests up to five clubs could be tempted into making a move for the Spurs man this summer.”

A move to Old Trafford would be a surprise considering Jose Mourinho snapped up right-back Diogo Dalot from Porto last month.

Tottenham chief Daniel Levy would also likely demand a hefty fee for Trippier, which would eat into Mourinho’s transfer kitty. Spurs signed Trippier from Burnley for around £3.5m in 2015.

The 27-year-old firmly established himself in Mauricio Pochettino’s team following Kyle Walker’s move to Manchester City last summer.

He is under contract until 2022 but could be the next Tottenham player to be awarded an improved deal. Manchester United are also the favourites to sign England defender Harry Maguire.
