In-demand midfielder Jean-Michael Seri has reportedly not travelled with the Nice squad for the club’s pre-season training camp amid speculation surrounding his future.
Seri, 26, was strongly linked with a move to Barcelona last summer, while the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United, West Ham United and Napoli have since been credited with an interest.
Seri is believed to have a £35m release clause in his contract, although that buy-out figure is said to expire on July 15.
According to Sky Sports News, the Ivory Coast international has not travelled with the Nice squad on their pre-season training camp – aiding suggestions that a move is imminent.
Seri, who is an 18-time Ivory Coast international, has scored 12 times and registered 26 assists in 123 appearances for Nice in all competitions.
Meanwhile, United have reportedly moved to the brink of signing Barcelona youngster Nico Gonzalez.
Gonzalez is regarded as one for the future by Barcelona but it appears that United are ready to tempt the 16-year-old into a move to Old Trafford.
According to Diario Sport, a deal could be pushed through by the Premier League giants, with Gonzalez’s father Fran currently at neighbours Manchester City.
The pair also hold a strong relationship with United scout David Harrison – previously of City – and it looks likely that the trio will be all working in the North-West of England.
City have previously failed in a bid to sign Nico, soon after the arrival of Pep Guardiola.
