Man United Lining Up January Move For Big-name No.9
REPORTEDLY MANCHESTER UNITED are waiting in the wings to offer Edinson Cavani the chance of a move to the Premier League if he cannot agree a new deal with Paris St Germain.
PSG have offered Cavani a new three-year deal to replace his current contract that runs out in 2018, but he is stalling on putting pen to paper.
The Uruguay international, 29, has been a target for Manchester United and Chelsea for the last 18 months and Jose Mourinho would like to see him at Old Trafford.
Cavani has been in fine form since replacing Ibrahimovic as PSG’s main striker. The £54.3 million man has scored 18 goals in 17 games for PSG this season and is on course to better his best Ligue 1 return of 19 goals set last season.
Cavani has been locked in talks with PSG for months about a new contract but isn’t sure if he wants to extend his stay at the club or not.
The 29-year-old could be a possible long-term replacement for Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Ibrahimovic, who played alongside Cavani at PSG, is 35 and the club are already looking at forwards capable of replacing him.
