MANCHESTER UNITED are willing to pay Real Madrid’s £73million asking price to sign James Rodriguez, according to reports.
James Rodriguez has become a peripheral figure at Real Madrid since Zinedine Zidane took charge. The Colombia international is no longer a first-team regular and has started just seven La Liga games this season.
And according to Spanish outlet Don Balon, a number of Europe’s elite clubs are tracking the midfielder.
A sticking point in Rodriguez leaving the Bernebeu was thought to be Real’s £73million price-tag.
However, the report says this will not be an issue for Manchester United who are willing to match the Spanish side’s valuation.
But the Premier League side will reportedly face stiff competition for his signature from Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain.
Real are said to be seriously considering the interest of all three clubs as the summer transfer window approaches.
Rodriguez is under contract at the Bernabeu until June 2020.
He has made 26 appearances for Real in all competitions this season, scoring five goals and providing 13 assists.
