Manchester United and Chelsea will reportedly lock horns for the signature of Paris Saint-Germain forward Edinson Cavani.
The Uruguayan international, who is believed to be unsettled at the Parc des Princes, has been valued at £53m according to French source Le Parisien.
The source reports that United and Chelsea are monitoring Cavani’s situation in the capital ahead of a potential swoop for the striker in the summer transfer window.
Cavani joined PSG from Napoli in 2013 for around £58m, and has become the club’s all-time leading goalscorer while in Paris.
The 30-year-old has been influential in providing goals this term alongside attacking partners Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.
The South American goal machine is not the only top-class striker on Jose Mourinho’s transfer wishlist. It is believed that Portuguese head coach is also interested in signing other elite forwards including Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid superstar duo Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale.
