Anthony Martial could be sold by Manchester United on the summer transfer window to fund a move for Cristiano Ronaldo, states a report.
As reported Spanish tabloid El Gol Digital, United boss Jose Mourinho is willing to abandon Martial in order to get his hands on Ronaldo.
Manchester United believe a £177m (€200m.) bid will be enough to bring Portuguese back to Old Trafford, with Anthony the man to make way.
Ronaldo has flirted with a return to The Red Devils in recent years and in January Spanish outlet AS reported that the Portugal superstar felt betrayed by the Spanish giants for not getting a better contract.
Cristiano was also reportedly keen to ignore the La Liga giants after being accused of tax evasion by the authorities.
The arrival of Alexis Sanchez means United have a lot of cover on the left with Marcus Rashford also an alternative but if the chance arises to sign Ronaldo, Frenchman will reportedly be offloaded to make way for him.
France international, who netted against The Reds on his Man Utd debut, so far has 24 Premier League goals for the English side and 25 will activate a lucrative clause in his contract.
