West Ham starlet Reece Oxford has taken to social media to dismiss reports that the club have offered him a new contract.
The youngster, who is valued in the region of £15 million by the Hammers, broke into the first-team last year and played just over 227 minutes for the club he joined from Tottenham five years ago.
Those performances attracted the attention of other Premier League clubs, most notably Manchester United.
After seeing reports the player tweeted: “Been hearing some funny stuff recently.”
The 17-year-old’s deal run out at the end of next season so the Londoners may consider letting him go at the bend of this campaign to maximise any potential fee.
Although they may be decided by a tribunal as the defender is still a teenager and has gone through the Hammers youth system.
While talks were ongoing during the summer, nothing was agreed. Reports suggest the player is feeling relaxed about the current situation as he continues to learn the game.
