Jose Mourinho is reportedly set to recall Manchester United defender Cameron Borthwick-Jackson from his loan spell at Wolves because he’s unhappy with the youngster’s lack of playing time.
The 19-year-old moved to Molineux in the summer with the hope of gaining first-team experience before a move back to Old Trafford.
However, the left-back’s featured in just five matches for Wolves this season and Mourinho is said to be annoyed at the Championship club for failing to come true on their promise of developing the teenager.
Borthwick-Jackson is adept at both centre-back and left-back and the Daily Mail claim Mourinho will recall the youngster to provide cover going into the festive period.
It is believed that he does have a future at Old Trafford, and the Portuguese tactician wants cover in those positions as Luke Shaw battles back to full fitness while he remains unconvinced about Marcos Rojo.
On joining Wolves, Borthwick-Jackson said: ‘My aim is to play as many games as I can, get as much experience as I can with the hope to go back there and challenge for a spot in the team.
‘Mourinho has told me I’ve got a future there, he sees a future for me. So that’s what I’m looking to do, gain experience and start there.
‘I’ve had interest from Premier League clubs and other Championship clubs but I wanted to come here [to Wolves] and help the club get back to where they belong, which is the Premier League.’
