JOSE MOURINHO is still trying to coax Ivan Rakitic to Manchester United, according to reports.
Spanish media outlet Don Balon claim Mourinho believes the £35m-rated playmaker is not appreciated by Luis Enrique at the Nou Camp.
And it’s suggested the former Chelsea boss could splash the cash and swoop in the near future.
Mourinho reportedly wants to offer Rakitic a starring role in his Manchester United side.
It’s claimed the Croatian would compliment Paul Pogba and allow the Frenchman more freedom to roam.
Rakitic joined the Spanish giants from Sevilla in 2014 and has gone on to become one of the best midfielders in European football.
He’s under contract at Barca until 2019.
Despite the speculation surrounding his future, Rakitic’s agent Arturo Canales claims Rakitic is happy at the Catalan giants.
He said: “Ivan is very happy at FC Barcelona, where he has been tremendously successful and has a contract with the club until 2019.”
Rakitic, 28, could be viewed as a long-term replacement for veteran playmaker Michael Carrick.
