Man Utd give Euro giants green light to sign star winger after holding talks in Sweden

Reports in Turkey suggested that Galatasaray sporting director Cenk Ergun travelled to Stockholm for the Europa League final.

Ergun monitored Chelsea forward Bertrand Traore who is on loan at Ajax.

Turkish outlet Sporx are reporting that Ergun also held talks with Manchester United officials over Ashley Young.

Per the source, the initial negotiations were a success and United have given Galatasaray the green light to sign the winger.

The Europa league champions reportedly want £5 million [€7 million] for the 31-year-old but are prepared to discuss his transfer fee.

Ergun has since returned to Turkey where he will hold a meeting with the board regarding the latest developments.

Young has struggled for playing time this season making a total of 23 appearances in all competitions for United.

The England international has made just eight Premier League starts this season.

Galatasaray are preparing to replace 22-year-old winger Bruma who has just over 12 months remaining on his contract.

The Portuguese ace looks set to leave and talks over a new deal stalled yet again.
