Man Utd On Verge to Finalize £22m Deal, as Mourinho Approves the Transfer
MORGAN SCHNEIDERLIN will tie up his £22million move to Manchester United this week.
Jose Mourinho has given his blessing for the transfer and has publicly said he won’t stand in anyone’s way if they want to leave.
But Everton saw their opening £19m bid rejected but are pressing ahead with a £22m offer this week.
Mourinho said: “Their situation is exactly the same, both of them. I will allow them to leave, the club will allow it, if the right offer comes.
“And until this moment, no we have not had the right offer. Is this good? No. Why not? Because I don’t think about them as options.
“Normally they would be selected tomorrow [for the FA Cup tie] but they aren’t because we are waiting for something that a few weeks ago looked 100 per cent but not now. Yes, we want permanent deals for them.”
According to the Daily Star Schneiderlin has already agreed personal terms with Everton and the deal will be signed off in the coming days.
Koeman has made no secret of making the former Southampton man his priority signing after admitting he is looking to “bring in an older more experienced midfielder in the position.”
United are keen to recoup as much of the £24m they paid for Schneiderlin in the summer of 2015 and Everton are not far short of that fee.
