James Rodriguez has been a bit-part player for Real Madrid under Zinedine Zidane and it’s likely that the attacking midfielder is sold by the La Liga champions this summer.
Bayern Munich reportedly contacted Real Madrid earlier this year as they looked to sign the player but it seems he will complete a move to the Premier League.
Chelsea manager Antonio Conte had instructed his employers to shell out a club-record fee to sign the Colombian attacker, while there were reports claiming that Rodriguez would like to reunite with Munich boss Carlo Ancelotti and Arsenal have also seen a bid rejected this month.
Spanish source OK Diario have claimed that Rodriguez has reached a verbal agreement with Manchester United over a summer transfer, and the Red Devils have struck a deal in principle with Madrid for his sale.
The former Monaco standout is said to be keen to move to Old Trafford and get away from the Bernabeu and he could be handed the No.10 shirt which would spark more rumours over the future of club captain Wayne Rooney.
Bayern are willing to offload Douglas Costa and Renato Sanches this summer, with Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham interested in the Brazilian winger, and their sales would’ve helped fund a potential move for Rodriguez but it appears as if he’s closing in on a mega move to Manchester United despite interest from Chelsea.
