MANCHESTER UNITED are set to launch an offer for Lazio star Lucas Biglia.
The 31-year-old midfielder looks set to leave the Serie A giants after snubbing a contract extension.
He has entered the final year of his current deal and is interesting a host of clubs.
According to Cittaceleste, United have prepared a bid for Biglia.
The Italian publication claim the Red Devils will present the proposal to Lazio president Claudio Lotito in the coming days.
Liverpool are also reportedly in the race and will challenge their bitter rivals with their own offer.
AC Milan are attempting to sign Biglia but have not made much progress.
Lotito is refusing to sell to Milan, according to Cittaceleste, despite Biglia’s agent last month claiming personal terms had been agreed.
“Lucas talked to Lazio a month ago, declaring his choice to leave Rome,” Enzo Montepaone said.
“There’s a deal with Milan and we’re waiting for the two clubs to come to a definitive agreement.
“I know they’re talking about finding a solution, because there’s also an opportunity in England but I can’t say any more about that.
“Milan and Lazio are talking and they have to find a deal, next week I’ll be in Italy and hopefully everything will be resolved quickly.”
Biglia, who has 49 caps for Argentina, spent seven seasons at Anderlecht before joining Lazio in 2013.
