MANCHESTER UNITED are reportedly poised to tie up a deal for Roberto Gonzalez.
The striker, 16, has risen through the academy ranks of La Liga side Real Betis since joining them as a youngster.
And his performances have seen him earn international recognition, with appearances under his belt for Spain’s Under-16s.
Gonzalez was last week called up to Santi Denia’s squad for seven days of training in Madrid and will be hoping to add to his caps in future.
The Sun claim his emergence has also caught the eye of two Premier League giants ahead of the summer transfer window.
The newspaper say Manchester United and Manchester City want Gonzalez to quit his homeland for a move to England.
And they suggest the Red Devils are set to beat their near neighbours in the battle to secure his signature.
The Sun indicate Manchester United will have to pay compensation to Real Betis once a deal for Gonzalez is wrapped up.
And the club are apparently poised to include the highly-rated forward in their academy side for next season.
United have revamped their youth set-up in the past 18 months with former Old Trafford star Nicky Butt heading up things.
He’s set about recruiting some of the hottest young talent from across the world in a bid to up standards.
