According to reports from Belgian outlet Het Belang van Limburg (via Sport Witness), Manchester United are eyeing up a January swoop for teenage sensation Leon Bailey.
It is clear to see that Manchester United need inspiration from somewhere to turn their fortunes around and while the squad currently present at Old Trafford is most certainly a quality one, no one seems to be stepping up to the plate.
Therefore, it is widely believed that United boss Jose Mourinho will dip into the transfer market during the January transfer window in an attempt to revive his side’s faltering title hopes and according to reports from Belgian newspaper Het Belang van Limburg, the Red Devils are currently eyeing up a swoop for youngster Leon Bailey.
Bailey has been creating waves in Belgium ever since making his debut for Genk last summer and the attacker is considered as one of the finest young players plying their trade in the Jupiler Pro League at the moment.
At just 19, it is clear to see that Bailey has immense potential and a host of top clubs across Europe have been taking note of the youngsters progress over the past 18 months or so.
Manchester United have previously been linked with a move for Bailey and in further developments to the story, claims have been made that the Premier League side are now ready to launch a concrete bid for the teenage sensation in January.
Reports state that United are willing to offer around £15 million to sign Bailey this winter and although Genk value the youngster at around £18 million, the English giants are confident of reaching an agreement.
There is no doubting the fact that Bailey is an extremely talented player but it would be a bit naïve to think that such a young man would be able to help United awaken from their current slumber. Nonetheless with Memphis Depay set for an exit from Old Trafford, Bailey could well prove to be the next big hope for the Red Devils.
