Problems at Old Trafford
A theme in the Sunday papers in England this weekend is to consider how Man United may change over the summer.
The Express go to print with the claim Michael Carrick could be headed out of the club in the off-season as Jose Mourinho believes he’s too old for United, while over in the Mirror another star is pushed towards the Old Trafford exit door.
From Man United to PSG
The story centres around French international forward Anthony Martial.
For weeks there have been stories concerning Martial’s position in the Red Devils setup, as the forward has yo-yoed in and out of the team.
Now it’s believed that the striker could be on his way to PSG in the summer, as his relationship with the Special One continues to sour. The red-top report:
Anthony Martial believes Jose Mourinho is attempting to drive him out of Manchester United.
Winger Martial, signed in a £58 million deal before last season, feels he has been made a scapegoat for his team’s failings this season after being repeatedly either omitted from the squad or put on the bench.
The Mirror claim that PSG want to move for Martial in the off-season, and “United bosses are unlikely to stand in his way.”
Of course there seems a lot of water to pass under the bridge under this season crystalises, and yet it would surprise few if Martial did leave Manchester when the season ends.
