Mourinho eyeing shock move for Bundesliga forward as Reds drop Griezmann plans
Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is reportedly eyeing a move for Werder Bremen forward Max Kruse in the summer transfer window.
It’s understood the Red Devils have abandoned their plans to sign Atletico Madrid superstar Antoine Griezmann and are pursuing other attacking targets ahead of the 2017/18 campaign.
Goal suggest Germany international Kruse is firmly on Mourinho’s radar this summer off the back of the 29-year-old’s barnstorming end to the Bundesliga season.
Kruse managed 15 goals in 23 games for Bremen and his goalscoring exploits appear to have put the Premier League giants on red alert.
Alvaro Morata, Andrea Belotti and Romelu Lukaku are also being considered by United but the German is viewed as a cheaper alternative.
Chelsea remain favourites to sign Everton striker Romelu Lukaku, with the Belgian widely expected to move on from Goodison Park in the coming months.
Antonio Conte is also an avid admirer of Real Madrid attacker Morata.
