Mourinho Keeping Tabs on Benfica’s Defensive Trio Ahead of Summer Move

Manchester United have reportedly sent scouts to every single one of Benfica’s games this season to watch Nelson Semedo, Victor Lindelof and Ederson.

The defensive trio have been one of the many stars of the Portuguese side to catch the attentions of other clubs with Manchester City linked with a transfer for goalkeeper Ederson.

Lindelof was the subject of a £50 million bid from United in January, but an agreement could not be reached between the two parties despite settling on a transfer fee.

United have installed an almost permanent scouting base in Benfica as they extensively scout Lindelof and 23 year olds Ederson and Semedo.

Right-back Semedo has been linked with United in recent months as he has racked up an impressive ten assists for his team.

A Bola claim Jose Mourinho’s scouts have yet to miss a single game in the 2016/17 season as the Red Devils consider swooping for each player this summer.

Old Trafford scouts were in attendance at Benfica’s 1-0 away league win at Moreirense and were joined by several other club representatives.

West Ham officials watched on, as did scouts from Besiktas, Lens and Celta de Vigo, although it is not known who exactly was being watched by each club.

Lindelof is expected to cost at least £50 million to prize away from Benfica this summer while Ederson is under contract until 2023 and Semedo until 2021.
