Manchester United are lining up a bid to sign Nelson Semedo in the summer transfer window, according to reports in Portugal.
Semedo has made 64 appearances for Benfica since breaking into the first-team back in 2015 but the 23-year-old is being heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford ahead of the 2017/18 campaign.
O Jogo suggest Jose Mourinho is determined to make the defender his second signing of the summer after the Red Devils announced Victor Lindelof’s arrival earlier this month.
It’s understood United are preparing to table a bid of around £30million for the highly-rated Portugal international as Mourinho scours the market for defensive reinforcements.
Matteo Darmian is expected to leave United in the coming months, with a number of Serie A clubs interested in landing the full-back.
Both Roma and Inter Milan are believed to be expressing a strong interest in the Italian who has struggled for regular game-time under Mourinho.
Darmian only managed 18 appearances in the Premier League last term.
