Mourinho’s top target rejects contract offer to force through €40 Man Utd transfer

Ivan Perisic is ready to reject Inter’s contract offer in order to force through a move to Manchester United, according to reports.

The Daily Mirror claims the Serie A club are willing to give the Croatia international a £85,000-a-week deal in order to fend off interest from United.

But it’s claimed that the 28-year-old wants to join up with Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford and will turn down Inter’s offer.

Inter are forced into selling one of their key players before the end of the month in order to meet Financial Fair Play regulations and Perisic’s transfer to United represents an easy solution for the Italian club.

United have reportedly had a €40 million (£35m) bid for Perisic rejected by Inter, and United have been told to increase their offer to €50m (£44m).

Last week, reports in Italy claimed that Mourinho remains keen on pushing through with the transfer and wants the winger signed before the team travelled to the United States for their pre-season tour in mid-July.
