Nemanja Matic wants to sign for Manchester United from Chelsea this summer, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Telegraph is reporting that Matic is “desperate” to force his way out of Stamford Bridge this summer.
The same story claims that Matic has been carrying an injury and has been training alone at Cobham this week after the rest of Antonio Conte’s squad returned to action on Monday.
The article says that Matic wants to sign for Manchester United this summer but the 28-year-old’s proposed move to Old Trafford has been complicated by the Red Devils’ signing of Romelu Lukaku from Everton this week.
It is also claimed that Chelsea have been trying to get Matic to sign a new contract at Stamford Bridge for the last 18 months but he has not penned an extension.
And the article says that the west London club could now be ready to cash in on the Serbian midfielder for a fee of around £40m this summer.
Manchester United have signed two players so far this summer – striker Lukaku and defender Victor Lindelof from Benfica.
