Not Griezmann: Bayern Munich Backed to Beat Man United in the Transfer Race for Prolific Frenchman
Bayern Munich legend Lothar Matthaus expects his former club to sign at least one Monaco player in the summer transfer window.
Monaco are favourites to win Ligue 1 this season and are in the semi-finals of the Champions League, where they will take on Juventus.
The likes of Kylian Mbappe, Thomas Lemar, Timeoue Bakayoko, Djibril Sidibe and Benjamin Mendy have all been linked with moves away from the club this summer.
Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea have all had scouts at Monaco matches this season but Matthaus says the Bundesliga giants will sign at least one star from the French giants.
‘I have learned that Michael Reschke, the chief scout of Bayern, was in the stadium at the Champions League match against AS Monaco and Borussia Dortmund, and certainly not because of the players at Borussia Dortmund,’ said Matthaus.
‘I would not be surprised if one or more players from AS Monaco play for Bayern [next] season.’
