WAYNE ROONEY is being heavily backed to head to China this summer.
Bookmakers Paddy Power have slashed the odds on Rooney leaving Manchester United and heading to the Far East.
Rival markets are being taken down because of the weight on support for a China move.
Any Chinese club is 1/4 with Everton a long way back at 14/1 and any MLS side is 20/1.
Paddy Power said: “To some, it’d seem like a shock move, but it can’t be that much of a surprise that Rooney is fond of a Chinese takeaway.
“The obvious question mark is how he’d cope with being unable to speak the language, but that’s never really held him back over here.”
Rooney finally overtook Sir Bobby Charlton’s goal-scoring record at Old Trafford with a late strike against Stoke on January 21.
But he’s been on the wane for years and looks a shadow of his former self.
Boss Jose Mourinho has been overlooking Rooney for most of this season with Zlatan Ibrahimovic chosen to lead the line.
