Manchester United have spoken to Monaco defender Fabinho about a possible transfer to Old Trafford, according to his father.
United were linked with a move for the Brazilian, who can play at right-back and in midfield, in the summer.
Jose Mourinho has used Antonio Valencia at right-back this season and extended the Ecuadorian’s contract last month.
But he knows Fabinho from their time together at Real Madrid.
And the 23-year-old’s father, Joao, has revealed there have already been discussions with United, as well as interest from Manchester City, Arsenal and Barcelona.
He said: “We have been in talks with Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal and approached by Barcelona.
“We like Manchester United and Mourinho’s work, but we have a soft spot for Manchester City.”
The €40.8m-rated versatile Brazil international, who failed to make an impact at Satniago Bernabeu, has been huge for Monaco this season – made 35 appearances in all competitions and bagged seven goals.
