Manchester United skipper Wayne Rooney has not had the best of seasons. Out of form and fighting against niggling injuries, the forward has seen his time on the pitch dwindle of late.
However, ahead of the FA Cup game against Peterborough, Rooney has been pictured back in training with his Man United teammates, and it’s thought manager Jose Mourinho is willing to give him a chance to impress.
Of course, with so many games – United have it worse than most, still being in the League Cup and of course the knockout stages of the Europa League – rotating is key, and that’s something manager Jose Mourinho is determined to do.
We’ve already seen the likes of Bastian Schweinsteiger back in training and now it seems some of the fringe players will be afforded a chance to impress.
United are on a decent winning run, and Mourinho will be aware that changing the team too much may ipact that, but for the FA Cup, as fans know, the fringe players tend to feature.
