Player confirms he’s staying at Manchester United, signs new contract extension
Kieran O’Hara has confirmed he is staying at Manchester United next season after signing a contract extension.
The 21-year-old is one of six players whose contracts were expiring in the summer, however, he was not included on the list of Man United’s outs list which was made official over the weekend.
Man United’s reserves returned to pre-season training on Tuesday and O’Hara has revealed he had chosen to remain at the club.
O’Hara wrote on Twitter: “A summer to remember but now time to get back to what matters, can’t wait to push on and really looking forward to the new season #MUFC.”
Matthew Olosunde, Matty Willock, Charlie Scott and Max Johnstone also signed extensions but Josh Harrop rejected a new deal in order to join Championship club Preston North End.
He’s had loan spells Stockport and Morecambe but spent the entirety of last season at United, although he was on the bench for the final Premier League fixture against Crystal Palace.
O’Hara has participated in United’s pre-match preparations and has been with David de Gea and Sergio Romero, however with Sam Johnstone also in front of him in the pecking order, it could be a while before he sees first-team action.
