MANCHESTER UNITED fans were in meltdown as PSG star Thomas Meunier hilariously trolled rivals City while admitting he supported the Red Devils.
The right-back hit headlines over the international break, after scoring a hat-trick and assisting a further three goals in Belgium’s 9-0 thrashing of Gibraltar.
At a FIFA 18 launch, Meunier was asked which team he played with on the EA Sports game.
“Well with Paris [Saint Germain] to keep myself in check, but otherwise for Manchester…United.
“Yeah the real one [not City] because I’ve always been a fan of Manchester.”
The 26-year-old was then asked his thoughts on Jose Mourinho’s side this season.
“At the moment, they’re a real team,” he said.
“They’ve got a formidable pass and are in the Champion’s League.
“They’ve really made a great team this year [with their signings] – I’m thinking specifically of [Nemanja] Matic.
“I would’ve loved to have seen him at Paris as he’s a really exceptional player.
“They’ve got a great coach, great team, great supporters. It’s the perfect team.”
Fans watching the clip saw it as a sign of Meunier expressing his desire to join the club and were particularly excited at the prospect of him teaming up with countryman Romelu Lukaku.
“Would love this guy as a RB after [Antonio] Valencia,” one wrote. “Doubt he would leave PSG though. Him and Lukaku light it up for Belgium.”
Another added: “Him and Lukaku play very well together for Belgium. After missing out on [Serge] Aurier I think this guy would be a good eventual replacement for Valencia.”
