Michael Owen has warned Manchester United that signing Antoine Griezmann this summer could stunt Marcus Rashford’s growth at Old Trafford.
Rashford has been one of the Premier League’s top performing players this season and has earned plenty of praise for his strong displays in recent weeks.
The 19-year-old broke onto the scene under Louis van Gaal last season but has continued his development under Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford.
Manchester United have been heavily linked with a move to sign £85m-rated Griezmann from Atletico Madrid as Mourinho thinks about bolstering his squad ahead of next season.
However, former Manchester United star Owen is concerned that the arrival of Griezmann could affect Rashford at Old Trafford.
Speaking to BT Sport, Owen said: “My concern is that Manchester United could go and spend £100m on Griezmann and then what do you do with Rashford?
“Can you pin all your hopes on him and say he’s the number one number nine?”
