JORGE MENDES is in talks with Manchester United over THREE January deals.
The Daily Star reported yesterday how Mendes was beginning to grow ever more crucial to Manchester United’s transfer window dealings.
He represents Victor Lindelof and Jose Fonte, both of whom Mourinho is fans of.
The deal for Lindelof, 22, has been discussed and should be completed imminently with the contract having been agreed.
United have agreed to pay £38m to get him from Benfica.
Mourinho was keen on his fellow Portuguese Fonte in the summer after shining at Euro 2016.
But since then his interest has eased a little – although his name is still being mentioned.
There is also the outside chance Fonte could leave Southampton to join Benfica to replace Lindelof after handing in a transfer request.
And last night it emerged Mendes was also in talks with Woodward over Real Madrid superstarJames Rodriguez.
Rodriguez, 25, wants to link up with Mourinho at Old Trafford, according to the Mirror.
There’s no suggestions all three deals will be done – although United have made it clear they are desperate to improve their squad and are willing to spend.
But as every day goes by the role of transfer fixer Mendes is only coming more and more important.
