The 26-year-old La Liga Star Speaks Out Amid Man United interest

Jordi Alba has expressed his frustration at his lack of playing time at Barcelona this season, amid interest from Manchester United.

The Spanish full-back has been in and out of Luis Enrique’s side during the 2016/17 campaign, falling victim to his manager’s switch to a three-at-the-back system.

Having only started 19 La Liga games throughout the course of the season, many reports surfaced linking the 28-year-old with a switch to Old Trafford, with Jose Mourinho desperate to resolve his own problems in the left-back position.

But while Alba is unhappy at the situation, he revealed he hopes to stay at the Camp Nou.

‘It’s clear that, the more I play, the better,’ he said.

‘My dream has always been to play here and stay at Barcelona for a long time.

‘We haven’t spoken about it, but a footballer always wants to play and I have not played as much as I’ve wanted to.

‘I don’t want to look for excuses but at least I’m currently getting game time and I want to win La Liga and the Copa del Rey.

‘Sometimes these situations all happen over your head,” he added. “Not playing was unusual for me, but it matures you and makes you value things more.

‘The change of system influenced things a lot. Whether I like it or not, I have to accept it.’
