“There’s no alternative!”: Attacker’s representatives confirm Man Utd transfer could still happen
Alvaro Morata’s representatives have confirmed a Manchester United transfer could still happen this summer as there is no other alternative.
Man United ended their interest in the Spaniard after three bids had been rejected for his services, with the highest offer said to be around €75m.
The Old Trafford club have agreed personal terms with Romelu Lukaku and reports claim he has always been a priority target, especially after Real decided to play hardball over a potential transfer.
Morata’s camp have responded to the collapsed United move, here’s what they told Marca:
“We must keep fighting, as there’s no alternative.”
He has been quiet on social media and has allegedly been upset by the situation as he was said to be desperate to join United and play underneath Jose Mourinho.
It’s a shame because he seemed destined for a move to Old Trafford this summer, but with Real trying to squeeze United for the best possible deal, he could be headed elsewhere or could also head to United if Mourinho decides to sign two strikers.
It’s unlikely, however, if the Portuguese boss believes he can fit Morata into the situation, there’s no doubt he could look to sign him for a cheaper fee, especially if Morata feels so deeply about playing for United.
