Santos president Jose Carlos Peres has revealed that his club want to sign Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira.
Pereira started United’s first two Premier League matches of the season, but the Brazil international has fallen out of favour in recent months.
The 22-year-old will see his current contract with the Red Devils expire at the end of the season, and it is thought that the midfielder could decide to move on next month.
West Ham United have been linked with a loan approach for Pereira, but Santos are also interested in a deal.
“He is a player that interests us a lot. He is a santista and wants to play for Santos,” Peres told A Tribuna, referencing the fact that Pereira has previously confirmed that he is a Santos fan.
Pereira has spent each of the last two seasons on loan in La Liga with Granada and Valencia respectively.
Meanwhile, It has been reported that Inter Milan are willing to grant unhappy winger Ivan Perisic a move away from the San Siro at the end of the season if a suitable offer is on the table.
The Serie A giants are rumoured to have rejected a number offers for the 29-year-old star in the summer on the back of his World Cup heroics.
Ivan Perisic revealed earlier that he had eyes on a move to the Premier League with Manchester United, but the Old Trafford club could not agree a fee with Inter.
Man United are still understood to be interested in the Croatia international, however, and Tuttosport claims that Jose Mourinho will get his man if a bid of €50m (£45m) is tabled.
