Manchester United will have to pay in the region of £60million to sign Crystal Palace defender Aaron-Wan Bissaka this summer.
The Eagles are desperate to keep hold of the right-back and are in a strong position given he has three years to run on his contract at Selhurst Park.
OIe Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to strengthen at right-back, left-back, central midfield and on the right wing this summer as he looks to rebuild at Old Trafford.
A move for Wan-Bissaka was considered one of the easier purchases the club could make this summer given the full-back would be content with Europa League football. However, the Daily Mail claim United could be priced out of a move with Palace demanding in excess of £60m.
United can afford the fee but Ed Woodward, their executive-vice chairman, is unwilling to be held to ransom this summer after years of paying over the odds. Solskjaer is desperate to sign an energetic full-back and is yet to be convinced by Diogo Dalot’s long-term future at right-back.
Palace want to keep both Wan-Bissaka and Wilfried Zaha but are realistic about their chances of doing so. However, the south London club will not sanction the sale of both players.
